Digital Geo-referenced OrthophotoA digital orthophoto is an image plan seamlessly mosaiced from several images to create one geo-referenced image with spatial properties that enables accurate mapping and data collection. |
|
Orthophotos are seamless and colour balanced.
High resolutions of up to 8cm (industry best practice) although 3cm can be yielded but file size should then be considered.
Orthophoto imagery is optimized to correct perspective view error therefore accurate measurements can be made directly from the orthophoto.
Orthophotos can be referenced as a layer in a Geographic Information System (GIS) or in CAD programmes such as Microstation or AutoCad to assist with planning, monitoring or design.
Orthophotos are Georeferenced which makes it “GIS-ready” and can be imported directly into GIS projects to mesh with similar datasets.
Hard copies of orthophotos can be printed on photographic paper (A0 plotting size) and can also be laminated or block framed for displays.
