Topographical Mapping

Topographical maps, detail maps or vector line drawings are derived from aerial photography for the compilation of elevation data.

The data required for the generation of a Topographical map is derived from aerial photography.

Terrain features are mapped using digital mapping workstations and the data can be transferred into GIS-ready datasets according to your requirements.

Topographical mapping is a powerful survey tool used for planning.

Data can be supplied in compatible file formats such as .DGN (Microstation), .DWG (AutoCad), .DXF or other formats if required, for easy integration with existing software programmes and data.

Our topographical maps comply with the standards set for Statutory mine plans (MHSA Regulation 17) enabling our clients to use the date towards compiling their own statutory mine plans for submission to the Department of Mineral Resources – no additional editing or mapping  will be required by the survey office on the mine.

Topographical maps indicate the elevation of the area, natural features such as dams, rivers and also built features such as buildings, power lines roads and other man-made structures.

Topographical maps can also include contours of the area as well as cadastral information and boundaries of the area (pillar boundaries, farm boundaries etc.).

Topographical maps are supplied in hard format and plotted on paper (A0 plotting size) and/or can be delivered digitally in a number of software programs such as Microstation and AutoCad.
